Children’s cabinet bill heads back to Legislature

BOSTON - Massachusetts legislators and advocates have renewed a push to create a children’s cabinet in the governor’s office. The bill was filed last session but didn’t make it past the Joint Committee on Ways and Means — supporters are looking to move it forward this year.

Rep. Kay Khan, D-Newton, is a lead on the bill with Rep. Antonio Cabral, D-New Bedford. Khan said the cabinet would help streamline agencies that deal with children’s issues.
