H.3150 An Act relative to fair pay for comparable work

Type:  Labor and Workforce

This bill addresses the pay disparity that exists between the salaries of human service workers employed by state-contracted community-based human service providers and state employees holding similar job titles who perform similar work by eliminating the disparity over a number of years. The Commonwealth is the largest purchaser of human services from community-based human service nonprofits. Due to this disparity, it is increasingly difficult for community-based organizations to recruit and retain qualified workers in the sector which employs more than 156,000 individuals.
